It’s been just over a month now since the passing of the lovely Isabel Warren. It definitely has not been an easy month for anyone who knew her. Her memorial, with over 1100 people, showed her family how loved she was by so many. Isabel was one of my french students at the same time as these three: Tate, Bronwyn & Claire. I was proud of their courage as they shared their poem, song, and memories of her.
When Tate’s mom asked me if I’d do a photoshoot with the three of them for the scrapbook that they’re making of all their memories with ‘bells’, I said “of course”. It was my pleasure to hangout with these three and spend some time remembering that lovely girl they miss so much! (I think that’s what I’ll miss the most about being a French teacher… having the chance to spend every day connecting, encouraging, helping and mentoring students.)
Here’s a photo of Isabel & I from last year’s grade 8 grad trip! She was such a riot… witty, funny, outrageous, compassionate, intelligent, & talented.

And now for a few of my favourites of Tate, Bronwyn & Claire:

Here’s Claire & Winks (Isabel’s birthday gift to Claire)
